COST ACCOUTANT JOB DESCRIPTION Primary functions:
Perform various functions related to maintaining the integrity of product cost and inventory valuation.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions in English - Close attention to detail - Function efficiently with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled per assigned department.
- Meet minimum standards of housekeeping per assigned department.
- Maintain WIP and FG worksheets - Prepare and post month end JEs for WIP, FG and cos.
- Monitor material and labor cost - Physical inventories and reconciliations.
- Maintain backlog data base.
- Back up for payroll processing.
- Internal and external cost reporting.
- Preparation of required month end corporate schedules.
Qualifications:
- Computer literate (both pc and mainframe).
Excel spread sheet.
- Prior experience in production planning preferred.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate a situation a plus.
- Ability to interact with various levels of personnel and functional areas.
- Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform critical analysis desired.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
- Ability to effectively present information in one:
on:
one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
- Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as a Cost Accountant.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
